Transitioning Wealth

What We Do

Wealth strategy and planning. A written strategy that connects the portfolio to the life it supports: liquidity needs, major transitions, philanthropic intent, and the trade-offs between what capital is spent on now and what it is meant to become. The plan is revisited as circumstances change, not filed after the first meeting.

Portfolio construction and management. Portfolios built individually against stated objectives — asset allocation, manager due diligence and selection, rebalancing, and risk oversight on a multi-custodial platform, with open-architecture selection drawing on the strategies best suited to each mandate.

Coordination with existing advisors. Investment decisions rarely stand alone. SNKP Capital works alongside the attorneys, accountants, and trustees a family already relies on, so that the portfolio, the estate structure, and the tax position are considered together rather than in sequence.

Generational transition. Liquidity events, business sales, inheritance, and the handoff between generations are the moments when wealth is most often mismanaged and relationships most often break. The planning happens in advance of them, and the reasoning is documented so it remains legible to whoever inherits responsibility.

Values and legacy. For many families, the defining question is not what the capital returns but what it is understood to mean by the people who receive it. Where values are meant to shape the portfolio, they are defined with the family, written into policy, and reported against — so alignment survives a generational handoff as an instruction rather than an understanding.

Women & Wealth. Through a dedicated research and education initiative, SNKP Capital works with women preparing for or already carrying responsibility for significant capital — with the fluency built well before the moment of transition rather than after it.

The measure of the work is not only what the portfolio does. It is whether the people who inherit it understand what it was for.

Women & Wealth

The largest transfer of wealth in history is underway, and a significant share of it will land with women. Most of the industry has responded by forecasting the number. Sankalpa has responded with a program: original research on what happens to portfolios and advisory relationships when the holder of the capital changes, alongside roundtables, a speaker series, and the Foundations of Investing workshops. The premise is straightforward — the knowledge gap that appears at the moment of inheritance was built over decades of meetings held with someone else. Closing it beforehand is the whole point.
